A short pause, of three to five seconds, is a very classy thing to do in a conversation. When you pause, you accomplish three goals simultaneously. </p>
<p>First, you avoid running the risk of interrupting if the other person is just catching his or her breath before continuing. Second, you show the other person that you are giving careful consideration to his or her words by not jumping in with your own comments at the earliest opportunity. The third benefit of pausing is that you will actually hear the other person better. His or her words will soak into a deeper level of your mind and you will understand what he or she is saying with greater clarity. By pausing, you mark yourself as a brilliant conversationalist.</p>
<p>Another way to develop great conversation skill is to question for clarification. Never assume that you understand what the person is saying or trying to say. Instead, ask, &#8220;How do you mean, exactly?&#8221; This is the most powerful question I&#8217;ve ever learned for controlling a conversation. It is almost impossible not to answer. When you ask, &#8220;How do you mean?&#8221; the other person cannot stop himself or herself from answering more extensively. You can then follow up with other open-ended questions and keep the conversation rolling along. </p>
<p>The third way to become a great conversationalist is to paraphrase the speaker&#8217;s words in your own words. After you&#8217;ve nodded and smiled, you can then say, &#8220;Let me see if I&#8217;ve got this right, what you&#8217;re saying is&#8230;?” By paraphrasing the speaker&#8217;s words, you demonstrate in no uncertain terms that you are genuinely paying attention and making every effort to understand his or her thoughts or feelings. And the wonderful thing is, when you practice effective listening, other people will begin to find you fascinating. They will want to be around you. They will feel relaxed and happy in your presence. </p>
<p>The reason why listening is such a powerful tool in developing the art of conversation and to improving communication skills is because listening builds trust. The more you listen to another person, the more he or she trusts you and believes in you. Listening also builds self-esteem. When you listen attentively to another person, his or her self-esteem will naturally increase. </p>
<p>Finally, listening builds self-discipline in the listener. Because your mind can process words at 500-600 words per minute, and we can only talk at about 150 words per minute, it takes a real effort to keep your attention focused on another person&#8217;s words. If you do not practice self-discipline in conversation, your mind will wander in a hundred different directions. </p>
<p>The more you work at paying close attention to what the other person is saying, the more self-disciplined you will become. In other words, by learning to listen well, you actually develop your own character and your own personality.</p>

This is especially so when it comes to attracting money.</p>
<p>Always act as if you are very wealthy. Whenever you buy something buy the item that is the better quality or higher price than what you normally would buy. The item doesn&#8217;t have to be hundreds of dollars more, just more than you would normally pay then, thank the universe for starting you on your way to your new and improved lifestyle. </p>
<p>You are teaching your mind that things are changing and you are removing the limitations on your lifestyle and when money next comes into your life you will purchase more of the things you want in your life without hesitation.</p>
<p>Always be grateful whenever money comes your way. For example, when you receive your weekly wage, or if someone gives you money for whatever reason. Every time you find money &#8211; in the street, under the lounge cushions, it doesn&#8217;t mater where you find it. It might be when you get a great discount when purchasing something. </p>
<p>Stop and appreciate the fact that money is flowing into your life. It really is important that every time money comes into your life you acknowledge it and give thanks. This will tell the universe that you are happy to receive more money.</p>
<p>There is a very old saying &#8220;find a penny and pick it up and all day long you will have good luck&#8221;. If you see money on the ground make sure you do pick it up and say thanks to the universe for bringing money to you. Again this lets your mind know that you gladly accept money into your life. Maybe you are in business and have not been charging enough for<br />
your services, make sure you raise your prices. If you are an employee and believe that you are doing a great job, ask for a raise. </p>
<p>How many times have you awoken in the middle of the night with a brilliant idea, or been driving in your car and noticed a billboard and thought &#8220;that gives me a great idea&#8221;? Make sure you have an ideas notebook. I carry one all the time (in fact I always have at least a pen and some paper handy wherever I might be)so that you can jot down all of your money making ideas immediately they come to you. It doesn&#8217;t matter if the idea seems crazy, just write it down and over time you will accumulate hundreds of ideas. </p>
<p>By doing this it achieves a couple of things. Firstly you start to realise that there are lots of money making opportunities out there and you will start to train yourself to see opportunities where before you may have missed them. As the ideas accumulate, one day you are sure to see an incredible opportunity and be able to act on it.</p>
<p>Right now, do something that makes you feel good. There really is nothing holding you back except yourself and the power of your own mind. If you believe you can&#8217;t, you won&#8217;t! Pick something to do today that will bring you happiness. It doesn&#8217;t have to be something big &#8211; it can just be to feel happy and joyful in yourself. Maybe just write down or say to yourself &#8220;I am grateful for &#8230;&#8230;.in my life&#8221;. Write it in big letters and say it out loudly and give it all you have in gratitude.</p>
<p>Just keep doing these small things and you will soon have the abundance and wealth in your life that you seek and remember whenever money comes to you, in any form, acknowledge it and give thanks.</p>

<p>Emotions love to dominate our actions and reactions, even though we do not want it to happen sometimes. Society often sees emotions as a sign of weakness, so people are used to putting them aside and focusing on the rational aspects more and more. No matter how strict and logical you may be, you will always feel,one way or another, someone or something will get through you.</p>
<p>Positive emotions are a lifelong goal for many of us concerned about emotional health and self improvement. What is more important; the amount of money you made during your life or the times you laughed out of sheer joy? </p>

<p>That place is relatively easy to find. It can be an actual place or an imaginary location. The best idea is to totally lose yourself in it. Let us say you have a problem on your mind and it just won&#8217;t go away. Go for a walk. Think you don&#8217;t have time? Just go anyway.<br />
Get caught up in your surroundings, hear the wind in the trees, feel the sun on your back. Your mind will drift away from the negative thoughts that dominated your last hours or days and start processing a whole new kind of information.</p>
<p>A safe haven can take many forms. It can be a song, a movie, even a person or animal. The main thing is allow yourself to get completely involved with this new activity. You might still get flashes of the problem every now and then. Ignore it and get even more absorbed in what you are doing.</p>
<p>When the walk, the song, or the movie ends you will abruptly return to reality. You will probably want to retreat back to the other place. Do not do it. Use the motivation gained from your good experience to turn away from your problem.</p>
<p>You will return from your safe zone with an increased energy level and positive motivation. You will feel better about yourself and have more confidence. You will see that any issue can be resolved. </p>

Every now and then, our actions greatly depend on a lot of information we retrieve from our memory bank. Such information can either be short term (such as specific tasks that we have to do) or long term (such as the ability to drive a car or repeat an instruction we read from a book). While <strong>long term memory</strong> may come spontaneously without too much effort when the need arises, short-term memory requires recalling information from the accumulation of things stored away. This is why you need a <strong>memory jogger</strong> to keep your memory in great shape to achieve efficiency in your daily endeavors:</p>
<p>•	Keep your attention focused on the needed information to be stored in your memory bank. Even with distractions around you, stay focused on the subject. The more concentrated you are on the information, the better the chances of retaining it in your memory.</p>
<p>•	Utilize the most ideal sense or senses when gathering the information. This is what we call acuity in sensing our environment and is a great aid for <em>memory exercises</em>. Be aware of the color or details of a picture, or the particular sound or smell of the thing involved. All our bodily senses are attuned to collect information depending on the circumstance at hand. While our sense of vision may be the most used in gathering information, our senses of hearing, smell, taste, and touch are equally important and helpful in remembering things, situations, and information about something or someone.</p>
<p>•	When you’re not sure that the information you are about to remember would really be retained by your brain, it would be better to write the information. This could be proven effective especially in gathering very long and tedious information like lecture notes or a personal interview. Just be sure you don’t forget that you have a note at hand; and of course, don’t misplace the note.</p>
<p>•	Maintain a balanced diet. A well-proportioned diet will result in a conditioned memory. Oily and sweet foods may cloud the memory. If you cannot completely eliminate a bad diet, gradually cut down your intake of these memory-inhibiting foods. Doing it gradually cushions the effect of withdrawal symptoms and you’ll get adjusted to the new lifestyle you are creating. This is not only beneficial to the memory, but we can say you’re on your way to a healthy life. In addition drinking lots of water brings lots of advantages to your overall health, and your memory is no exception.</p>
<p>•	Don’t deprive yourself of enough rest and sleep. Having enough sleep does not condone laziness; oversleeping does. So don’t feel guilty resting or sleeping as long as it is not overdone. You need it to keep you revitalized from the demands of work.</p>
<p>•	Take time to relax. Breathe deeply if you must. Keep your thoughts organized before acting on them. Keep away from stress and anxiety. It may be impossible to completely eliminate stress since it is part of our challenging times, just try to keep it down as much as possible. Stress may bring your memory to an inefficient level. Avoid the habit of saying to yourself that you might forget things, because you’re more likely then to actually forget. </p>
<p>•	Stay positive, creative, and energetic. Your memory needs to be within a circle of various things. Things that come in various shapes, sizes, and colors can motivate your creativity. This is a positive way of discovering your surroundings in all its variations and diversities. Avoid being enclosed within the four walls of your room just like you’re a prisoner.
